It Is Not Enough That I Believe by Anonymous on December 29th, 2010, 11:12 pm
I believe that who I am is dependent on what I've learned, what I'm capable of doing and learning, and what my beliefs in life are. I see philosophy as a tool to help me better understand myself and distinguish me from others. It is not enough that I believe something; I must be able to provide reasons as to why I believe something; I must be able to have the self conviction to voice my belief and make a stand for it. Without something to stand for, I am lost.

And so I embark on this philosophical journey to re-examine myself and to subject everything I believe under a microscope. I am aware that some beliefs I hold are unexamined, was passed down to me like a cold, and this leaves me uncomfortable. I refuse to believe something just because everyone believes it. I want to be able to rationalize my beliefs and I want to be able to provide reasons to myself as to why I believe in something. This is why I must conduct a philosophical cleansing.

There are many concepts I must re-examine...

the diet of rooks: the judgment that follows the devil by Char0n on August 17th, 2014, 7:06 pm
they say there are riders in the sky made of ectoplasm and woe... like a posse out to get one won for the gipper or to take the mail from point a to point b at break-neck speed... but in those long and winding nights along historic route 66 its easy enough to realize that you must've taken a wrong turn when the pavement flips to gravel and the lights go out just as you pass by 'neath them...

Read this, Im looking for answers. by Anonymous on December 22nd, 2010, 5:49 pm
choosing roads.... its like playing Rusain Rulet you have some chances of good and some of bad but unlike R.R. you can make A LOT of bad choices and still later find good ones. but what it comes down to is... do you have the balls to pull the triger.. if not you'll just fall down and be on the lowest road.. it may not always be the worst but it weighs on you more then the others. you just have to start walking you MUST start walking or you just always wish you could have done something. im implore you start walking. have the balls to pull the triger and hope for the best because chances are you were smart. you only loaded one bullet in the chamber. and now your chances are good no matter which road you fall, or rise to.

famous quote by zetreque on January 26th, 2018, 1:48 pm
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.

Well I just came up with a much needed addendum add-on to that famous quote.

Teach a man to fish and he will turn it into a for profit business eliminating your own food supply.
