Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore—
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
“’Tis some visitor,” I muttered, “tapping at my chamber door—
Only this and nothing more.”

Wanderers Nachtlied
Über allen Gipfeln
Ist Ruh,
In allen Wipfeln
Spürest du
Kaum einen Hauch;
Die Vögelein schweigen im Walde.
Warte nur, balde
Ruhest du auch.

Johannes Wolfgang von Goethe

Alley

Alley is so good,
Home is so far
The pigeon sings
the one on the roof,
Sitting against me it is.

Children of the Alley
With their plastic balls
Are pouring out one by one.

Momma is cooking
Her cooking is just excellent.
Sad is sitting she in a corner,
In her hands a handkerchief.

Daddy’s out at work,
daddy thinks of us.
My father is a hero,
Yes, he is a hero.

The Sky is blue,
His place is empty
To rise up and see
How fine we are.

Streets are crowded
‘n water flows in streams.
Here is a good place,
Yes, it’s a good place.

Trees are all proud,
Oaks and Cedars yellow.
Laughing are men and women,
And are talking loudly,

People are without pain or sorrow
They’re together talking and having fun.
This I witnessed myself,
They water the weeds.

I ask for nowhere else
To be,
Just that place.

Alley is so good,
Home is so far
The pigeon sings
The one on the roof,
Sitting against me it is.

Children of the Alley
With their plastic balls
Are pouring out one by ...

Wandering thoughts

Forget about yesterday, as gone is always gone.
Forget about tomorrow, as today has to run.
Remember goodness your friends have done
But forget the badness that enemies are on.

Blog Subject:  Birth of Jesus Christ in the Holy Quran

The 19th Chapter of Quran is named after Mary. There is a fine description of Christ's birth here, see:

19: 16-34
16 Relate in the Book (the story of) Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East.

17 She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent her our angel, and he appeared
before her as a man in all respects.

18 She said: "I seek refuge from thee to (Allah) Most Gracious: (come not near) if thou dost fear Allah."

19 He said: "Nay, I am only a messenger from thy Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a holy son."

20 She said: "How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?"

21 He said: "So (it will be): Thy Lord saith, 'that is easy for Me: and
(We wish) to appoint him as a Sign unto men and a Mercy from Us': It is
a matter (so) decreed."

22 So she conceived him, and she retired with him to a remote place.

23 And the pains of childbirth drove...
