The banks hold developed countries' economies in the palms of their hands. They therefore control the affluent life of the relatively rich populations who are not willing to give their indulgences and excesses up.
This power that banks wield appears grossly out of proportion relative to their moral stance within society - one of competitive private firms out to make huge amounts of profit at the expense of the population.
The only way we can see this being altered seems to be through some kind of political progression beyond what we know now. Since equality has been argued in favour for on fronts such as age, sex, sexuality, race, disability, etc., there is only one area left for equality to be rolled out within - territory.
It seems that territory on this planet can be recognised as equally habital by all humans. There is no apparent philosophical argument to suggest a territory belongs to one person any more than another. Of course, if someone is presently standing on it, then there appears no reason to force them off of it - but who wants to stand in the same place for their whole life?
If there is someone else occupying a space at the moment, then if one really wants to move in to it, one can wait until the current occupant moves, and if they only move for their kin, then we see a return to our present situation, and all the political upheaval that goes with it.
Those who move from spaces in order for their kin to hold their place for when they return, are promoting a social message which means they will be ostracised on other fronts by 'Equalists' where sharing is necessary - like health care and education.
Political parties are offering this and that these days, but it just seems they are wallowing in the same mire - none of them appear to have any answers or anything new to inspire hope, because none of them want to be the party-poopers who tell the rich developed nations that they are greedy, insensitive, ignorant, racist, elitist, hypocritical, etc. - ultimately revealing the moral stance that lies at the core of the nations via the banks.
It seems these political parties are in fact forcing a revolution to occur at some point, because people won't accept the present siuation ad infinitum.
It seems we need a positive future to dream up for our children, and we tend to feel strongly about our genetic survival.
