Hello :)

Science is just a hobby and not a career choice for me so my topics vary a lot. I'm 18 and start college in October for studies in teaching (lower K classes). I know IMM and Silkworm  from another forum.

Wowzers!

Postby Yoknapatawpha on August 28th, 2006, 6:07 pm

Hi, I'm Yoknapatawpha.

This channel is really neat.

I'm into knowledge

and sounds

and how when they are put together

you get normative ideas.

Some call me fieldpeas

I once went by Eremita

I will be around

Peace

Is that your real name?
If not, how did you come up with it?

I use a number of aliases and I wished to keep them unaffiliated.

This one just came to mind (as things often so do).

Postby Deltafane on September 6th, 2006, 2:16 pm

today reading sartre. braveing nothingness, and on top of it all it is a beautiful day.
I am in Wisconsin, a north-woods girl. I study fine arts, photography. I am interested in art thearpy, the possibilities of the fourth dimension, and finally my typing skills are lacking.

Hi Detla

Welcome to the forums

Make sure to check out our ART forum. Ilis I think has been reading Satre lately. He posts a bit on the forums but is a regular in the channel. Swing by and pay us a visit there also.

4th dimension?

Typing gets better with practice - well for most of us ;)

Hello to you all!
I'm Katie, a Scot living on one of the Islands of the Outer Hebrides.
Philosophy (just finished an ordinary BA degree with Themes in the Philosophy of the Mind) keeps me sane and reminds me of why I have always asked qustions (and some never seem to!). Body getting old but the mind (hopefully) will stay as it is - or even get better??
Have been browsing this site and it (or rather, you) is/are good!! Hope I can contribute something sensible - eventually...

Hi Katie

Hi Katie

Welcome to the Forums!

Glad you found us and I look forward to reading your posts soon. We don't have a specialized forum for Philosophy of Mind but some of same topics come up in the other forums.

I like your avatar btw. Is that a picture you took of home?

Hi,
It is a picture I took last week on an island called Tanera beg (near Ullapool in a group called the Summer Isles). I was celebrating my hm hm birthday - a significant one!
This particular island has no introduced wildlife, no sheep etc and the flora is absolutely superb. This was some moss growing on a stone with wild saxifraga growing on the top. Since I had just been given a new digital camera - I went a bit wild!
Thank you for your welcome.

Hi everyone,
I’m currently a senior at the University of Florida. My main goal is to become an interventional cardiologist although I like to be involved on research. My areas of interest are cancer immunology, biomechanics, physiology and kinesiology and Spanish literature. At this point I’m considering applying for an M.D/ PhD program.
I’m looking forward to be engaged in some interesting discussions.

Hello.

I am 23 years old, Metal Casting Technician student. Probably not a common field for people here. I have an annoying interest in all fields but more particularly with Physics. I just hate not knowing how things work. 80% of the time I won't make much sense, just to fore-warn you.

ps. only 80x80 Avatars? You have forced me to make a new one :(

Hi everybody

my name is Florian and I will start my Phd next week (finally). I will work on light perception of Arabidopsis plants and mutants with a deletion of the phytochrome A gene.

I was always looking for forum to get contact to other scientist and getting the chance to discuss specific problems.
I think we can handle a lot of problems just by interacting.

Hello Dolphin, and welcome to SCF.

My friend dho is the authority on photosynthesis in here. He worked on some electron transport pathway for some time (or so he maintains). :)

By the way, touché on inter-scientist interaction.
