### Does the Santa particle exist?

**December 25th, 2010, 12:11 am**Is there really a Santa?

How Santa does what he does, and how he can’t possibly do all that he does. Santa is able to visit all the homes and all the children, of all ages and in all the many parts of the world, and he does it all, in an impossibly short period of time.

On this point I can only say, “It is a fact that, time slows down when you are enjoying yourself.” So for a very happy fellow, doing what he lives for, on this very special occasion, time must almost stand still. Yet, for the rest of us, we still rush around our busy lives, without time to spare, or little to give. He may age a full year, as he goes about his business, but for us it is a twinkle, a flicker or a flash. Yet, he could be the warm touch on your arm, or his noise on your cheek, a feeling you feel, but nothing you see. Sometimes you don’t need any explanation, other than it is magic, uncertainty, or it may be Saint Nick.

There are those, who are smarter than the average child that may look deeper into the tales and mystery of Santa. The mathematicians and physicist can examine the story of Santa using their tools of the trade. The might add up the number of homes and children, and measure the distance between them. They might weight the reindeer and calculate speeds. They might figure out the distance per second Santa must travel to meet his deadline. They might conclude with a scientific certainty that given these assumptions, Santa would be traveling many times the speed of light, and the presents he carries would be of enormous mass. The physicists may well conclude that this great mass, traveling at these great speeds are very likely not to exist?

There are others who would use the same tools and principles to argue that Santa does exist, in the heart of a child. We recognize a child’s heart would allow for immense possibilities, but would in fact be a fixed volume of space. Again science might count all the presents, add up the reindeer and factor in Santa and elves, finding a mass unit of a great number. They might then find the distance between all the homes and calculate the speed from one to the next, and on, and to all. With these measurements the discreet units can be divided into the fixed volume of space, occupied by a child’s heart, to give a mass density for Santa, as measured on the atomic scale.

The higher density excites the Santa particle, creating a proportional acceleration. The conclusion here might be that the Santa particle has the exact energy required to disperse the presents in the same fixed time frame.

The Santa principle states that “Santa has the exact discreet energy needed to complete his precise circuit, with no more energy, and no less than is required”

Still, there is the chimney problem. It is possible for Santa to get up and down a chimney of any size, but what of the children who have no chimney? Santa does in fact exist in a state of particle wave duality. According to the Heisenberg Principle, the Santa particle does exist as a wave washing over mankind and as Santa in the heart of a child. It is the magic of the decorated Christmas tree, when no one is looking, that the quantum duality collapses as the Santa particle passes near. This releases energy from the Santa particle in the form of presents under the tree.

Here is the scientific uncertainty, and proof that Santa can exist, if you let him. Merry Christmas to all.
