Same here! I've certainly benefited from my years here at SPCF and hope to continue with the help of my friends.

Its weird. I feel "happy" simply because it is appropriate to be "happy" and reflect upon what has been amd what will be. It is like very air and atmosphere has changed because everyone is relaxing, everyone is reflecting on essentially "being human" and doing "human things" rather than performing working acts they are performing some other act.

It is just another day and yet it is anything but the same as any other day. How does this happen. It is so readily accepted that it is quite ridiculous. Why do we need to separate such days from others? Is the "unique" simply the rebranding of the mundane? Humans at play :)

27 more days of the year of the monkey. So we are in power a little longer. Then the roosters come in and ruin everything.

Hey, that almost sounds like a metaphor, like a veiled reference to...never mind! HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Nice list, DaveO, lol.

My resolutions are the usual Green living stuff. Boils down to: walk more, drive less, add solar panels, recycle everything, brainwash young people whenever possible. We are killing this planet and nobody's going to hand us another one.
JK about the brainwashing....young people seem to be figuring it out.

Thanks Biv,

Did you notice the very very bottom line in my post? (137 ?) I thought that was funny.. but then I'm weird anyway.

Best to you for a great New Year,
Dave :^)

Dave, I liked the 137 and also that you selected the reciprocal of the fine structure constant. Given your interests, I know that wasn't a coincidence.

Thanks Biv,

But did you also notice that the time stamp for modification can only occur after another contribution at 11:54.. yet the time stamp for my modification was 137 times within the same minute as the original post?

What kind of strange magic was that? Hahahaha..

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this year as the year I retire.. hopefully before some Idiot decides to save Social Security by simply extending the retirement age, rather than repay the $2.7 Trillion stolen (whoops.. I mean borrowed from without means to repay) from it. But AARP indicates the system won't go bust until 2033 and hopefully, I'll be dead by then..lol.
http://www.fedsmith.com/2013/05/23/government-owes-2-7-trillion-to-social-security/

Also, since I'm predicting a major devastating Quake mid-2017, I'm getting out of SoCal to Arizona before then. But don't be alarmed people.. my prognostication abilities seldom extends beyond Today.. lol.

But seriously, my future is tied to my investment in my house and since earthquake insurance is limited to minor damages (and the rest come out of your pocket) then I'm leaving as soon as possible.. just to be safe regarding retirement.

Best wishes for a Happy New Year all..
