What would life be like without pooping?

Postby caters on August 1st, 2017, 6:18 pm

Momma once asked me the question "What would life be like without pooping?" and she mentioned poop magically disappearing and I told her "Very painful"

Here is what I think life would be like if for some reason the anus was closed and could not open again:

First day: Normal
A few days later: Extreme rectal discomfort and impaction
A few weeks later: Pain all over the abdomen(The whole colon is affected)
A few months later: Severe appendicitis(The appendix is totally blocked by this whole colon of poop)
A few years later: Malnourished and about to die(The whole small intestine is affected)

If somehow the creature could not die at all or had all kinds of IVs in it to prevent death, the stomach would get overfull and if not already from the appendicitis, the creature would vomit all the time. Stomach acid would quickly be depleted causing achlorhydria. Then there would be chest pain and a sore throat from a full esophagus. And finally it would get to the point where the creature can't even bite because the mouth is so full.

I think it is simpler than that. People would just think you didn't give a shit.

You solve it the way the Pilgrims brought in a good crop their first years at Plymouth Plantation: colonial irrigation.

Also, bear in mind: though a bad colon could be a death sentence, you don't end a sentence with a colon.

Hi All,

We would all be full of shit more than usual.

But seriously, this is actually how my father ended up. His small intestine stopped functioning. He got hungry and ate food. A few hours later, he would have to chuck it back up and repeat. He got all his nourishment via IV drip at night, all night. About 16 hours of Drip for 8 hours of Mobility. This went on for about 7 years before his kidneys failed.

Regards,
Dave :^)

Not possible to live that long without releasing in the context of your post.

If all life didn't poop then would life even exist at all? All feces is a meal for another organism. If life didn't poop then it would have to respirate. It would have to be a gas planet where all matter conversion took place through gas reactions but technically exhaling or offgasing could be considered pooping.
