Right now I’m one block from Lombardi’s, the oldest pizzeria in the U.S. I’ve actually never had their pizza, but people who have had it say it’s OK, not that special. Most of the other pizza here is mediocre at best. NY also lacks decent Polish food — it’s almost nonexistent, at least in all the places I hang out. Since I’m of Polish descent, this makes me unhappy. :-(
I actually lived in Dearborn for a short time(one year) when I was 6 years old(my dad worked for Ford at the time), but I can’t remember if we ever had the pizza there.
I have only been to N.Y.C one time(when I was in the army), but that was only a cab ride from one airport to the other, so I never had a chance to try their pizza. You probably know that Chicago has a ton of good Polish restaurants with very reasonable prices.
After the pizza, my favorite restaurants are the many Mexican restaurants that we have here. It is almost impossible to stay on a diet in Chicago with all the great restaurants we have from you name the country. :) I actually just lost 32 pounds, but that was because I was again really sick and basically could not eat anything good. But now I am back to my old sinful ways and gaining some of the weight back.
I have always wanted to visit Central Park, and think that is the greatest idea to have this huge park right in the middle of the downtown area!
