Canadian rock singer Bryan Adams has posted an unusual Instagram picture taken onstage showing his own shadow projected onto the haze and dusty air above the audience at a gig in Delhi.

The Indian capital is the sixth worst place in the world for pollution, according to World Health Organisation (WHO) data. Conditions in and around Delhi have deteriorated this week and are currently categorised as "poor".
The optical effect is known as a 'Brocken Spectre', and is named after a peak called the Brocken in the Harz mountain range in Germany where it was first observed and described by Johann Silberschlag in 1780.
