Time Flies

Postby toucana on November 30th, 2018, 7:13 am

Two workers reinstalling a clock mechanism at the top of the tower in the campus of Purdue University West Lafayette Indiana had a very narrow escape indeed when the large clock-face slipped its moorings and plunged from a crane, bouncing off their cherrypicker cradle as it hurtled to the ground.

The workers can perhaps console themselves with the thought that the clock will at least now be exactly right twice a day.

A welder working at the base of the tower, a Mr. Sal Dali, narrowly escaped death as the clock landed on his welding rig and was partially melted.

I just wanna see the expression on that clock-face the moment before it hit the welding rig.

"Don't ask for whom the bell tolls."
