Seasons Greetings

Postby Event Horizon on December 20th, 2018, 3:55 pm

Just wanted to stop by and say,

I hope you enjoy whatever festiveness you partake in (Unless you're an isolated introvert like me!) and I hope you all have a rollocking good time of it.
Please don't put any lab grade ethanol in the punch for laughs. Remember ether fumes are explosive, and chloroform is safer!
Feed the lab animals phenobarbitol, and by the time you get back they'll just be waking up...

No, seriously. I hope you enjoy your break.

Twas the Night that twas Festivus
by Watson

All through the house, twas the night before festivus.
Not a creature was stirring, just the cat and the rest of us.

The laundry was hung by the chimney with care.
On a line from the fire, attached to a chair.

The children were farmed out to grand-parent's beds.
Where festivus fairies danced in their heads.

Mama with the ketchup, and me with the fries,
we settled in by the fire, while everything dries.

When out by the lawn pole there arose such a clatter,
I sprang up from the fire to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a spark,
tore open the window and peered through the dark.

When what to my curious eyes should appear?
My two griping neighbors, each on their John Deer.

With both of these fellows not moving to quick,
I thought shots of Wild Turkey may do the trick?

More rapid than beagles attacking their dinner,
They whistled and shouted and called out the sinners.

Stop Dashing, stop Dancing, stop Prancing around.
Stop commenting, stop kissing, stop making a sound.

And quick as it started, all griping soon ended,
Last shots of the Turkey, with both elbows bended.

Two men in their PJ's, both sporting plaid,
and grateful for Festivus, like the one they just had.

Now laying a finger, and finding their nose,
to their feet very slowly, both of them rose.

From the tractor start line, they left with a beep.
Racing off into the darkness, home and to sleep.

But I heard them exclaim as they drove out of sight,
Festivus for the rest of us, and to all a Good Night.

No poles are actually for sale.
In the true spirit of Festivus, you must find your own pole, out behind a shed. And, it doesn't have to be your shed, as long a you put it back after
