NE July summer snowstorm

Areas such as Crescent and Crater Lake National Park saw between 2 and 3 inches of snow, while other parts of the region saw temperatures dip as low as the 30s.

I know it probably snows up around Mt Shasta year around, but I'm just wondering how unusual or rare this actually is? Does anyone have any history with the Klamath region?
