Two clocks in one - a new world record for clock stability. Physicists at National Institute of Standards and Technology have combined two experimental atomic clocks based on ytterbium atoms.

It's always unnerving to come across an element you've never heard of. To avoid this, I once tried to memorize Tom Lehrer's Elements song.....



....still not quite there. And I can't match his tempo.
