Midnight will be delayed Saturday while we reset our clocks - again.

Hi all,

So at exactly 6:59:59, we need to set our clocks back exactly 1 second. That's gonna be tricky, since my clocks don't allow me to adjust the seconds.. ;^P

Regards,

After the insertion of the leap second in December, the cumulative difference between UTC and TAI will be 37 seconds.

So the next time I am 37 seconds late to a meeting I can just say I accidentally was on TAI time.

Though it's hard to get the the tardiness exactly right, i don't suppose most people would notice if you were actually 39 seconds late, or only 36.
Too bad you can use that excuse only once, while public transit can snarl you up day after day.

TAI?

In order to create UTC, a secondary timescale, International Atomic Time (TAI), is first generated; it consists of UTC without leap seconds.

Hi All,

If TAI stands for International Atomic Time.. then what is the abbreviation for "Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation"?

CARP

It's their dyslexic mascot that is the next step after reptilian, amphibian to fish. ;)

I thought CARP was an organization for Canadians who keep on living, against the odds.
