At least 19 people have been killed and another 50 injured in a terrorist bombing attack at a pop concert by US singer Ariana Grande in Manchester UK.

The attack took place at around 10.35pm BST just as the concert in the 21,000 capacity Manchester Arena venue ended. According to reports, large numbers of teenage music fans were leaving the venue and were being met by their parents when a large explosion took place in the vicinity of the main foyer creating wide-scale panic.

The nearby Manchester Victoria railway station has been closed, and latest reports say that police bomb disposal teams are dealing with a second suspect device close to the location of the first blast which took place in a merchandising area just outside the Arena. (A controlled explosion just took place in the nearby Cathedral Gardens area).

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed within the last few minutes that the incident is being treated as a terrorist attack. US media sources such as NBC are carrying similar reports.

Greater Manchester Police arrested a man in my hometown last night, in connection with the concert bombing. (Curious detail: they "chased" him for half an hour even though they later described him as a man with mobility issues.) Town centre was shut down and evacuated this afternoon.
