North Korean Missile Was An ICBM

US military analysts have confirmed that the missile recently launched by North Korea into the Sea of Japan was a two-stage ICBM that could in theory reach mainland American territory.

Rex Tillerson the US Secretary of State has called it "a "new escalation of the threat" to the US and the world, and warned that Washington "will never accept a nuclear-armed North Korea". The USA has asked for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council. A closed door meeting of the 15 member council will probably take place on 5th July.

The new Hwasong-14 missile is thought to have a maximum range of about 6700Km (4163 miles) which would place most of the state of Alaska within range of a launch from North Korea.

Another nut with the bomb? Great.

One who recently described President Donald Trump as a 'psychopath'.

Takes the dialogue neatly in the direction of Cretan liars, and pots and kettles deciding that orange is the new black methinks.

So China preferred this outcome to the possibility of increased American influence on the Korean peninsular apparently.

Even though they can now be threatened themselves???

Fortunately, we can show our nuts and psychos the door in 4 years. In NK, crazy is for life. And NK crazy doesn't have quite the system of checks and buffers on it that the USA has. So, it seems likely their kettle is a bit blacker than ours, in the long run.

Who should be scared is SK, given that Pyongyang has something like 14,000 conventional artillery tubes pointed at Seoul and environs and, if they feel too threatened, could wreak a level of destruction unprecedented in the history of the world. Greater Seoul has something like 26 million people, and it wouldn't required functional nukes to kill them. It's a small peninsula.

We need to tread very carefully here. Which means, ideally, locking Trump in a sealed, padded room for a while. A man can dream, can't he?
