Alzheimer's treated by....designer parasites?

Could hunter/gatherer tribes in South America offer clues as to a formerly beneficial effect of the Alzheimer gene?

Amyloid plaques, formerly considered the major causal player in dementia, might not be as significant to the pathological process as astrocytes turning on the healthy brain.

I would call it the internal ecosystem. It's a war in there and auto immunity is a civil war.
