Trump Visit To UK In Doubt After Tweets

Postby toucana on December 1st, 2017, 6:52 am

President Trump's proposed state visit to UK sometime in 2018 has unofficially been placed on indefinite hold after Trump re-tweeted inflammatory anti-muslim videos originally posted by Jayda Fransen the deputy leader of a far right wing hate group called 'Britain First'.

Jayda Fransen is currently facing criminal prosecution in UK for hate speech. The name of her group was invoked by Thomas Alexander Mair when he murdered Jo Cox the Labour MP for Batley and Spen in Yorkshire on 16 June 2016 shortly before the Brexit referendum.

Trump improved on this by further insulting British PM Theresa May when she criticised him for retweeting such inflammatory material (once he had located the right Theresa May on Twitter at the second attempt).

The feelings of the normally urbane British establishment are probably best summarised in this clip by comedian Jonathan Pie:

Does this add to impeachment possibilities with Chancellorsville SC acts?

Not likely. But today's news about Flynn.....

....might be "salting the tail."

Looks like Flynn may now lead investigators to Trump in violation of the Logan Act.

yeah but in the mean time this tax bill is likely to pass and turn our country into even more of a nightmare.

I hope he goes to the UK ... and they arrest him (There is probably some grounds for an arrest. "Hate speech" might actually be a useful law after all! haha!)
