Red Cross Denied Entry To Child Detention Camps

U.S. Border Patrol processing center in McAllen for migrant children

The Red Cross report that they are being denied entry to Trump’s child detention facilities.
We share everyone's concern about the border situation and stand ready to help. We have offered assistance to federal gov't authorities, but without permission, we can't access facilities.

The refusal of US authorities to allow Red Cross inspectors and volunteer doctors into these detention facilities echoes that of Hitler’s Nazi regime in Germany between 1940-45.

The Nazis finally allowed Danish Red Cross inspectors to visit one carefully sanitised facility at Terezin/Theresienstadt in former Czechoslovakian territory in 1944.

A notorious Nazi propaganda film shot at the time depicted this Konzentration Lager as a near idyllic collection of holiday chalets inhabited by happy campers, - A surviving fragment of that German film can be seen below.

The film was made by Jewish prisoner Kurt Geron who was an experienced actor and director. After the film was completed, he and the cast were deported to Auschwitz and murdered.

A list of some 26 pro bono and public advocacy groups who are mobilizing to help immigrant children separated from their parents has been published by the Texas Tribune

The Trump administration has only allowed reporters to tour select facilities where immigrant boys are being held. No one has been allowed to see the inside of a single camp for immigrant girls so far.

Ooooo - what a great campaign gimmick! Candidates running in districts where these facilities are located can go there with blankets, books and camera crews, demanding entry. Whether they get inside or not, the publicity is pure gold. The administration has made such opportunities widely available by spreading those poor kids all over the map.

First he says he was joking. Then he denies. Then he blames Democrats. Then he reverses.
Then he doubles down.

We are living in surreal times.
We get our political news from comedy shows, fashion and arts magazines. Of course.

Ce n'est pas une cage. Ceci est un parc à mailles en chaîne.
