Kavanaugh v. Garland

Pete Souza the White House photographer during the Obama presidency just posted the above archive shot on Instagram with this comment:
Attention Mr. Grassley, Mr. McConnell, Mr. Corker, Mr. Graham, Mr. Cornyn and Mr. 46 minus 1: this is Mr. Merrick Garland. Remember him. You held his Supreme Court nomination open for 293 days without a single hearing. During those 293 days, no one came forward with a shred of evidence about anything that would disqualify him. You just didn’t schedule a hearing or vote for purely political reasons. There is now a credible rape allegation against your Court nominee. For a lifetime appointment. Whose nomination has been open only for 71 days. And your plan is to rush a vote on his nomination without an FBI investigation into a sexual assault he may have committed? Because 46 minus 1 says about the FBI, “this is not their thing.” The “I” in FBI stands for “investigation.” Even I (and everyone that works at the White House) had two FBI investigations into my background as the White House photographer, though I had never committed a crime. So you don’t want the FBI to investigate someone for the Supreme Court about a rape allegation? Please explain.

We should probably dedicated the news section to articles related to science and philosophy.

There are another 30 sections of this Forum exclusively dedicated to particular Scientific and Philosophical specialisms (19 in Science Discussions, and a further 11 in Philosophy Discussions) available for your delectation and delight, if you happen to find factual observations and objective discussions about current news stories uncongenial.

Judging from the viewing/hit figures on many of the threads posted in the News Discussion section, they appear to be some of the most popular and frequently visited items in the entire forum.

We allow all kinds of news here. We can't restrict the news events of the day to only those which conform to a right wing worldview. Anyone who doesn't like it here is free to go to Fox News, which will provide them a safe space where they need not be troubled further. Or, here's a wild and crazy idea: don't click on topics that upset you.

Brett Kavanaugh just got an unequivocal ringing endorsement from Roy Moore, the disgraced and defeated GOP Senate candidate who managed to loose Alabama for them a few months ago.

Some supporters you can do without. An accused child molester supporting an alleged rapist probably doesn't present the party of family values conservatism in quite the light they hoped for.
