Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be the next president and vice-president of the USA respectively. The result was finally called by US television networks earlier today after Pennsylvania was called for the Biden ticket giving them a total of 273 electoral college votes - 3 more than the 270 required of the 538 available. President Trump’s tally of electoral college votes stands at 214.

The interactive BBC map above shows that three states where Democrats are currently in the lead remain uncalled. (Electoral college votes available shown in brackets)

Nevada (6) —> Democrats lead by some 26,000 votes
Arizona (11) —> Democrats lead by around 20,000 votes
Georgia (16) —> Democrats lead by a wafer-thin margin of around 7000 votes

Only two states where Republicans currently lead remain uncalled:

Alaska (3) —> Republicans lead by some 52,000 votes
N. Carolina (15) —> Republican lead of around 80,000 votes

The Democrats are likely to win all three of the uncalled states where they are currently leading because the remaining votes left to be counted are either mail-in votes or provisional ballots, and both of these tend to favour Democrats by some considerable margin. (This is mainly because president Trump and the GOP explicitly discouraged their followers from using mailed ballots at all).

The voter turnout of 66.4% of the eligible electorate is the highest since 1900.
Mr Biden leads the national popular vote with 50.5% to Mr Trump’s 47.7%,- a lead of 4 million votes. The president-elect’s vote total is a new record - at just under 75 million votes

In reverse order:

- Joe Biden now leads Trump by 50,000 votes in Pennsylvania.

- Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro has explained to the WP that with only 10,000 mail-in ballots having arrived after election day, there is simply no way of overturning this result.

A Pennsylvania postal worker has admitted that he fabricated claims of electoral fraud that were vehemently cited by Congressional Republicans as ‘evidence’ in their demands for a recount.

- GOP grandee Karl Rove has written an op-ed in the WSJ telling Trump it’s over, and urging him to participate in a peaceful transition process.

- RNC chair Ronna McDaniel posted a tweet admitting that Joe Biden had won the election - and then deleted it according to the Daily Beast

Robert Jeffress a key Evangelical ally of Trump has said publicly that Trump has lost

- Mark Brnovitch the Republican Attorney General of Arizona confirmed to Fox Business news that Trump has no hope of winning the state and that a frivolous lawsuit about sharpies has been dropped by Republicans for lack of evidence.

Some poll workers who happened to be Republican felt "stared at" and couldn't concentrate. Another saw someone of "intimidating size" wearing BLM gear. Another found the PA system VERY LOUD.

A clear indication of massive fraud! ... story.html
