Make water from Air

Postby mildredx on October 2nd, 2017, 3:14 pm

Hello All,

Can someone help me figure out how to collect water from thin air without using electricity unless is powered by a small solar panel.

The air around us has water and I need to come up with a gadget that will somehow collect this water. Rain cannot be part of this experiment.

Please provide ideas.

Much appreciated.

Hello mildredx,

Think about dew point. If you can bring air down to dew point (either by temperature or pressure change) then you can extract water from air.

You can also experiment with digging holes in the ground (colder temperature helps reach dew point) and using a sheet of plastic or cone shaped metal that the water will condense on and run down to drip into a container.
