Diffractive Display

Anyone has idea for making a kind of dynamically tunable nanogroove to produce structural color for use in a diffractive display which reflects light to form color images?

The effect of applying changing electric field on the silver nanoprism is worth investigating. Maybe we can change its color by tuning the electric field. What do you think?

How about embedding liquid crystal within the nano pores and grooves (for which the transmittance and diffractance of light can be tuned by electric field) to make a hybrid emissive and diffractive display for use under different lighting conditions?
