An atto-second is a billionth of a billionth of a second. And it looks like it is going to be useful in the advancement of quantum physics. The principle is reasonably straightforward, but the technology took 10 years to realize.

Linc would be able to suggest applications no doubt, if he's not too busy playing with Muons and stuff.

Just the ability to collect and process the raw data is enough to give me brain damage just thinking about it. It's quite exciting tech.
