God, we're so unutterably... stupid. Who is doing this? Is this the palm oil people? Send in the army.

Yep. Palm oil plantations, coffee, cattle ranchers, lumber companies (teak, mahogany, etc). Multinational capitalism at its most predatory and rapacious.

It's why I only drink shade tree coffee (which preserves canopy forest) and avoid palm oil-using products like margerine. Strictly olive oil and butter.
