Gut Bacteria to Change Blood Types

I don't know much about this field but it sure seems like an interesting find and I wonder if it will shed any light on evolution of blood types.

Researchers use gut bacteria to turn type A or B blood into universal donors

I had a moment of confusion until I remembered that RBCs don't have nuclei. Strip off the antigens and you have a total remodel. Pretty cool.
