What are the biggest mysteries of science in Star Wars?

In the world of anti-gravity, Faster than light travel and sentient machines; what's left to study?

You might explore this question by reading up on trends in other branches of science - cognitive sciences, say, or perhaps some exotic cosmology or astrophysics, or the Asimovian psychohistory, or,
check out science fiction, the literary stuff that doesn't translate into simplified dumbed-down movie sci-fi - and think about now we could open up fields that don't even exist now. "Ontological informatics." Star Wars is mostly 50 years plus old themes, which barely scratch the surface.

i know he is looking for something more glamous but i always wonder how people can eat food from different planets. given millions of years of different evolutionary history, we would be able to eat trees more easily than meat or fruit from some exotic planet.

According to Star Trek the next generation, with all physical needs having been satisfied, it becomes all about self improvement. (gag) sorry, I think I just tossed some grits into the back of my throat.

Joking aside, there is exploration and possibly the discovery of new life forms.

"Study" is a broad term and there is enough to study and learn in the universe and about life to keep one busy for several lifetimes. Despite the collective knowledge base, every child learns from scratch.

At least I am not the only one to mix up Star Trek and Star Wars.

I’m trying out many different avenues of Star Wars technology and I think the best bet is to go with droids. They are almost eponymous with Star Wars and I’m sure scientists are still working on stuff with droids. What can be done with droid technology that hasn’t already been done in Legends or Canon? They did a planet wide droid intelligence in The Force Unleashed that was able to possess PROXY, who he himself was a very unique droid. They also explored AI uprisings and droid free will many times. What can a scientist do with droids?

How did one small ship destroy a battle ship using only hyper drive?

Why didn't they just do that with the star destroyer?

It's a mystery.

Let’s say their is a galaxy or multi-galaxy civilization. FTL travel is mainstream and commonplace. The civilization has also mastered.

•Cold fusion reactors and room temperature superconductors

•Megastructures like a Dyson sphere, Matrioksha brain and Shakov thrusters.

• The full potential of genetic engineering.

• True A.I. and robots for every type of reason.

• Near full potential of chemistry

•Teleportation

•Time travel

*Applications of dark matter

*Artificial and anti-gravity

*Cloaking devices for ships and people

*Neuronium or other super-elements

*Neutronium or other super-elements

*Tractor beams

*Miniaturization tech (storing g large objects in capsules)

•Perpetual motion machines

• The full potential of nanotechnology

•Reaching the near limits of computing; having computronium.

•Intangibility or phasing tech

•Pico or Femtotechnology and perhaps even smaller.

•Immortality

•Nuclear transmutation

• Complete simulations of reality

•Mind uploading

•Regeneration of any body part

•Technology telepathy and psionics.

• Proving the existence of parallel universes and travel between them

•Creation of pocket universes

•Black hole power harvesting

That’s what my theoretical civilization has mastered. I know it’s a tall order but I’ve played with every idea under the sun. My civilization has created almost everything depicted in stereotypical sci-fi. Is their anything left in science that this type of civilization would be trying to create? I’m looking for a new idea.
