Why don't we all go to Heaven?

Postby Keep_Relentless on November 1st, 2019, 7:47 am

In Buddhism, all beings will achieve bliss eventually. Learning countless lessons in countless lives across many realities, some heavenly, some hellish, all beings will sooner or later achieve enlightenment and be saved.

I'm currently struggling to understand why, in Christianity, all are not similarly saved. Why don't sinners spend a finite amount of time in Hell as due punishment, and then return to Earth or Heaven? Why do sinners spend an infinite amount of time in Hell? Because they were free to choose? Isn't God responsible? Why would He create a world in which souls suffer eternally? How is that just (an infinite punishment for the infinite crime of rejecting an infinite being)?

Thank you to anyone who attempts to shed light on this.

That's a difficult issue to answer. Does anyone know the mind of God to answer? We have choice and response to choice.
I won't say I have the total answer as I too learn from every day. But I can ponder the possibilities.
Faith is a gift from God to those who seek or those whom God enlightens. When God is rejected or not sought after then a soul can fall into darkness and then the knowledge of Gods existence is lost or even worse, to know of God and reject obedience. Jesus mentioned dying in one's sin and the bible teaches that all souls belong to God and the soul that sins will die. Jesus teaches to repent of sin for the weight of sin will drag you down and away form God and there may be a point of no return.
These are just some thoughts of mine. I won't say it is the answer or even part of the answer. Some things we will not know the answer to until we die and some questions may never be answered. Each person has to personally trust The Lord for salvation and walk the straight and narrow path of light. May the discussion continue.
