Lifespan of biblical figures

Postby Infinite_Observer on September 11th, 2017, 10:03 am

I have noticed in the bible it states early humanity such as Moses and others living for nearly 900 years or so. Do you think this was actually possible? Or perhaps they had a different way of measuring time, which I am not sure would be the case since even the Egyptians were able to keep a fairly accurate calendar unless I am wrong. Just curious to see what people smarter than myself think about this.

The claim in the Bible is not that humanity in general lived for extremely long time but that particular people lived that long, and no there is nothing scientifically impossible about it. Not only is there many other people than those mentioned to lived a very long time, but there are hints in the Bible that there were other people on the earth even at the time of Adam and Eve (or at least at the time of Cain anyway).
