It actually reminded me of another story of two Nish (Ojibwa) women talking to each other in a store in Ojibwa. A woman behind them made a comment about how people shouldn't be speaking in a foreign language here in Canada. One of the Ojibwa women turned to her and said she was speaking a Canadian language and not the language of England, a foreign country.

There was a similar story reported from Wales recently. A muslim woman wearing a hijab was travelling on a rail-replacement bus and was talking to her daughter in a foreign tongue. An officious Englishman tapped her on the shoulder and said "You are in England now, and you should speak English". An old lady in the next seat turned round and snapped "She's in Wales, and she's speaking Welsh !"

What, you haven't read Orwell's "Animal Farm"?

No, I have not.

From Wikipedia I get the following decription of a character in the book:

Snowball - The pig who challenges Napoleon for control of Animal Farm after the Rebellion. Based on Leon Trotsky, Snowball is intelligent, passionate, eloquent, and less subtle and devious than his counterpart, Napoleon. Snowball seems to win the loyalty of the other animals and cement his power.

So I guess Biv is suggesting that the picture is comparing Trump to that character in the book.

I suppose the lack of subtlety is the point. I am not so sure about the adjectives intelligent and eloquent, let alone suggesting any similarities to Leon Trotsky. I would tend to see this Russian communist in a good light for his opposition to both Lenin and Stalin.

Though I suppose overthinking things is the bane of all humor...

You might want to read the whole book (It's only 10 chapters long).

In the final Chapter X you will discover that Napoleon, the pig who symbolises Stalin, has amended the seventh and final tenet of the original "Seven Commandments of Animalism" propounded by Old Major the founder of the revolution from:

"All Animals Are Equal"

to

"All Animals Are Equal, But Some Are More Equal Than Others".

The ultimate example of the pigs’ systematic abuse of logic and language to control their underlings, this final reduction of the Seven Commandments, which appears in Chapter X, clothes utterly senseless content in a seemingly plausible linguistic form.

P.S. - If reading really isn't your thang, then you can watch the 1954 animated film version on YT.

Rob Rogers a veteran editorial cartoonist with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has been fired after 25 years following a row with his paper over the high number of his cartoons that were being rejected.

A sample of the sort of anti-Trump themed work that led to his ouster can be seen above.
