These are cool Badger - are they done with the art program on Ipad with a stylus?

Thanks. Hopefully they’ll be a lot more to come (and it will gradually get better too!)

A little disheartening looking at the ease with which some youtubers create amazing pieces of art, but I really think I can produce something respectable if I keep practising.

Yes, Apple Pencil. Using Procreate.

I hope so -these are a great start! The facial expressions of the creatures - particularly in what I describe as sheer glee in the creature on the right- in the first one are awesome - the whole piece captivates the viewer in whatever story is beginning to take shape there --

The second one is also interesting and contemporary -- a classic model pose, but with a troll face -- lol I hope I am not digging a hole here if you were really intending that to be a beautiful girl :). but it is an interesting piece for sure! Thanks for posting.

Haha! No, she’s not meant to be human. I didn’t get the features on her face like I had in he sketch (see below), the eye in the sketch made her whole character pop. The style I was playing with made it difficult to capture the scaly skin thig too - will probably try work on it more.

Also, this is another attempt (WIP):

I see what you mean with the eyes - I think it works well as is, but would also be interesting to see how different eye shapes (buldging - different expressions, etc) would play out in that piece. Cool stuff though!

Ear is in wrong place, arm looks weird and cannot get perspective on legs right ... but at least I’ve learnt quite a lot on this one.

Frog man is cool! is that like a fanny pack with beads he or it rather is wearing? I'm curious what frog man would look like if he was turned more towards us --?

It was a pair of tight fitting underwear that showed off his ample bulge; then it morphed into a “fanny *snigger* pack” when I was adding shading.

I like Frog Manthing too. What I hear is that hands are the hardest things to draw, and artists struggle with getting them right. In my very brief attempt to do visual art, I always used the beginner's strategy, which is to call all your drawings of people "mutants" or "aliens" so as to legitimize your mistakes. :-)

I’ve really spent much time on hands yet, but yeah, hands, feet and faces. I’ve not tried to draw proper feet yet, they’re hard!

I have attempted some “normal” faces. For me it’s about getting perspective right. Sometimes the nose is okay, or the ear, but they are too far apart or on different angles ... keep putting eyes too high too.

Here’s what I done this last week as practice:

And ironically the easiest bit to do. Still quite a bit of work to do on face tones.
