TIME, a poem

Postby Brent696 on December 22nd, 2018, 2:17 pm

Time

Time to get up or is it time to lie down
Time to speak or perhaps nary a sound
Time to be bold and act without thought
Or time to turn about as cowards we ought

Time to laugh or exposing our tears
Time to be distant or time to be near
Sometimes there is too little
Sometimes there is too much
At times we should be forgiving
And at other times judge

Yet time is just an illusion
Neither moving nor alive
It is just another space in which we travel through
At right angles to our lives
Another dimension of the psyche
In order to know ourselves
So is it Life that is in motion
And not the world in which we dwell

In truth the tide is both, in and out
Just as hills and valleys share the day
Day and night both coincide
As do tomorrow and today
And it is merely us that feels that time has passed
As our awareness walks upon the way
Time is set, its story written
Both uncensored and unchanged

And so in living, do we read each chapter
As existence we do claim
Whether we dance or cry or laze about
Whether in our pleasure or our pain
Time is but a reflex of our consciousness
As a fire requires a flame

If time's an arrow, I want a few words with whoever fired it. Could have someones' eye out...
