Links between Cyrenaics and Skepticism

Postby henriette on March 7th, 2016, 6:03 am

Dear,

Aristippus of Cyrene, a follower of Socrate, created a school of philosophy named Cyrenaics (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aristippus), that is a kind of hedonism of particular interest because it does not promote ataraxia. A point is unclear to me, namely the links between Cyrenaics and the scepticism of Pyrrhon of Elis, a link that is reported in several analysis about Aristippus.

Cyrenaics promote the pleasure as an ouput of sensible motion and this may may be considered a skeptical attitude at the point that it is a sensualism.
Any suggestion for further readings welcome.
