Reflective material.

Postby Watson on April 8th, 2015, 4:53 pm

What I'm thinking of is something like a radar device that emits radiation and collects the returning signal. But in this case I'm hoping to have some reflective material that will resonate with radiation, such that the returning sign will show up on a monitor. Is there such a thing? I thought I read about something like this, or am I remembering wrong?

Hi Watson,

"some reflective material that will resonate with radiation, such that the returning sign will show up on a monitor."
Sorry, not following.. what are you trying to see? What spectrum?

Best wishes,
Dave :^)

In whatever spectrum the monitor device can see/display. I suppose sound waves that penetrate some obscuring material, and resonate back the shape of the reflecting material, like a square, or star shape back to the monitor.
I may be way off thinking this is possible, but like maybe sonar that can hear what shape is out there by the shape of the reflection.
