Postby HigherLvlofThinking on May 11th, 2012, 12:02 pm

Does anyone know what was I think George Berkeley's best written work? I know read a little about him last year in my philosophy class but i cant remember what it was called or if he is even the right Berkeley? Please Help, thanks.

I can't say what his best work is, but his most famous is the Three Dialogues.

I specifically remember reading "Three Dialogues Between Hylas and Philonous, In Opposition to Sceptics and Atheists"

Maybe it's a different work you read? These are some of the best known works by George Berkley:
- An Essay Towards a New Theory of Vision (1709)
- A Treatise Concerning the Principles of Human Knowledge (1710)
- The Analyst (1734)
- The Querist (1735)

I can't think of another famous philosopher named Berkley.

That's an unrealistically big question I'm afraid. George Berkeley is the only canonical one.
