Any of you regulars in the metafizz/episto forum should have a look at this remarkable novel. The discussions, in the novel-within-the-novel, of the travelers on a train will have a familiar ring and I think you will enjoy the trip. And he writes beautifully.

Sounds good, with the philosophy and the hedonism combined.

Consciousness is on the way to getting solved: qualia are intrinsic, just as energy and momentum are, but quaila are also internal, that is to say as truly isolated, having no effect at large like energy and momentum do.
