Light based processors - introduction video!

Postby Youcefzyx on March 7th, 2018, 7:14 am

Hi everyone, my name is Youcef and I'm kind of new here!

I wanted to share a hyphothesis about light and it's properties that could be used in processors.
As you all probably know the current electronic processors with billions of transistors crammed into single chips have reached their evolutionary limits.

CPU's used to double their speeds or computational power with each new generation. This is not the case anymore as the only innovation is to put more cores and increase the cache size of it.

So what about using a different technique: why not use light or at least one of it's interesting properties?

In the following introduction video you can actually see that light offers possible solutions to substitute current.
