Where is this post?

Well, it certainly is "anything philosophy" and I know absolutely that someone will recognize it. Search will not handle it because all the words are of only four letters. Please, where did I read something like: "I can't want what I want to want"?

Thanks much.

No idea. I prefer to say I want not to want.

You might look in something about Pascal's wager. There must have been several of those.

There are a couple ways around that search problem.

One is to just use google.

If you search google for
"I can't want what I want to want" using quotes, it will show anything with that exact phrasing... In this case google can't find anything on the entire internet with that exact phrase. If you add something like science chat forum to the search query, then you will get matches that include this website.

Alternatively, You can search google with the following

site:sciencechatforum.com I can't want what I want to want

or

site:sciencechatforum.com anything you want to search for

I hope this helps you find it.

Pretty sure that's Schopenhauer, Viv.

"I can do what I want, but I can't want what I want."

If not, it should be :-)

Thanks, Friend. That is the one place I didn't look until this morning when I wasn't even looking for it.

Now that I didn't know. From Schopenhauer to Old Rasputin to the rest of us who like to play with words.

Good morning. Oops! Good afternoon.
