hi, everyone i'm a young scientist and I found a new way to get eletric energy, but I don't know how to tell the world about it, I am just 16 and I live in a little country, so yeah its hard
My friend told me that in Europe theres a ''scientists academy'' or something like that, but I just need someone to tell me exactly what I have to do. thanks :)

Well, you could start here I suppose.

There are other options if this method is patentable. If you invented something new and useful, it could be worth money. Note that getting a patent in many countries can cost thousands of dollars. And lots of good ideas have been devised decades ago. For instance, I discovered the Pleiades (a star cluster) when I was young. (Never mind that it had been discovered thousands of years earlier...I still discovered it.)

The various Academy of Sciences don't usually get involved in the kind of thing you're talking about.

My advice would be to talk to a professor in your country. Or, if you just want the idea out there, start here. There are some scientists here who can help if they knew more.

hello, thanks for the answer :) but I do not think I should spread my idea like that, not yet, first I want to make a document or something that shows that I was the first to have this idea.
Because I may be young but I'm not stupid and I know in the world there are many bad people who only show up later to steal the work of others, someone already did this to me.

Oh and sorry for my bad english or for my grammatical errors.
english is not my official language.

So write it up and submit it to a journal. Or go for a patent, but remember that's expensive.

True story: When I was 16 I successfully (I thought) trisected an angle using only a straightedge and a compass. I knew it was supposedly proven to be impossible, but I did it. It felt great.

It took me a week to figure out what I did wrong and that the old guys were right.

My only real point is that there are a lot of things that seem new and innovative at the age of 16 that are really old and were thought of a hundred years ago. True innovation is hard.

One useful thing for you to do is to find someone not interested in financial gain and bounce your idea off them. It might not be as new as you think.

And your English is pretty good, especially as a second language. Don't worry about that.

well yeah you are absolutely right, when you're young a lot of things may seem new, I already made this mistake many times.
I'm not 100% right that my idea and what I found it's new, but yeah 70% it's good too :)

I think Lincoln's suggestion to consult with a professor in a university near you might be the best way to start. At least they'd be able to tell you more about the feasibility and novelty of your idea.

As for your English, you communicate better than some native English speakers I've encountered, so I wouldn't worry much about that.

henriqueta,

If you'd like to talk to a professor about your idea, Lincoln's right here. He's a great guy and won't steal your idea. I mean you have to ask someone, right?

In most countries, you can draw of a nondisclosure agreement that you and your consultant sign, and you pay him a dollar or a pound or a Euro, and that allows you to take legal action if he steals or leaks your idea. Check your local patent law - it's probably on the web.
