As for myself ... I live in suburbia, and the house I bought has a smallish yard, surrounded by very tall old trees on adjoining properties, so I have somewhat limited 'full sunlight' during summer for gardening. As a result, I mostly use 5 gal pails instead of in-ground gardening.
I mostly grow cherry tomatoes in assorted colors (due to their reliably high & early yields and disease resistance), and hot peppers.
