Biden Win Projected In Michigan

CNN and MSNBC are projecting a Biden win in Michigan.

Both CNN and AP had previously called Wisconsin for Biden. The Biden ticket had also flipped Arizona as well, according to a number of sources (including Fox News).

As things stand (253 - 213), Biden will reach 270 Electoral College votes if he wins any of these states - Nevada, Georgia or Pennsylvania.

The Biden campaign are quietly confident that they will overhaul Trump’s current lead in Pennsylvania as large numbers of mail-in votes are being counted, although state officials have said they may not have a final tally until tomorrow.

The Trump Campaign is demanding a recount in Wisconsin, and has filed a suit to stop the count in Michigan, but as they were reported to be losing by 20,000 votes and 50,000 votes respectively in those states, it’s unlikely to help them.

Twitter has placed warning labels on recent Tweets by Eric Trump and WH press officer Kayleigh McEnany that falsely claimed Pennsylvania had been called for Trump.

Biden has already won 69.8 million votes nationwide, a record for any presidential candiate.

Nevada plus Arizona will give him 270, exactly enough to win. The "blue shift" has made today a bit less scary, with early votes and mail votes coming more from Democrats and leaning independents. It's been most dramatic in Pennsylvania, where Trump was up by double digits early this morning and now it's much tighter. Also, urban precincts have been slower count precincts.

I'm not sure I can - in spite of being half dead of emotional fatigue.
It's profoundly troubling to confirm that almost half of the American people would rather tear up their country than share it with the other half. This time, we can't pretend it's because they're not being heard, or that they didn't know what kind of president they were choosing.

(On the lukewarm side: I wonder whether Biden had a chance today to call the Paris Accord and say, "Don't rent our room yet!")

One of the more jaw-dropping opinion polls I saw recently was one that indicated that only 24% of Trump supporters view the Coronavirus as a “very important” issue in this year’s election, compared to 82% of Biden supporters.

This was underlined by another AP votecast poll today, which said that only 4 in 10 voters regarded the pandemic as their ‘top concern’.

Given that it has killed well over over a quarter of a million people in the USA to date, you would imagine that a pandemic raging out of control would rate slightly higher on the Richter scale - But apparently not.

Blue Shift of counting mail ballots continued as I slept. Biden flipped to the lead (tiny) in both Pennsylvania and Georgia. With the remainder of the count in heavily democrat precincts in Philly and Atlanta, the Biden leads look to be permanent, though recounts may be called for due to the closeness.
Of course, if Arizona and Nevada remain in the Biden column (which looks very likely) then PA and GA may be irrelevant. That would be nice for deeply stressed budgets in those states.

When/if this ever ends, I'm putting all those election officials, clerks and volunteers up for medals of honour. I'm really impressed with the spokesmen of both Nevada and Georgia.
Notice the republican minions keeping their heads beneath the battlements, drafting their "I know him not" speeches, but waiting in case they'll have to jump out and sing "He's a jolly good emperor." I hope they've put extra guards on the national Archive, cose I've heard Trump likes tearing up documents, and he's set his sights on that one in particular.

Joe Biden has amassed the electoral votes to secure his White House win. California and its 55 electoral votes put the president-elect over the top, despite President Trump’s efforts to subvert the Nov. 3 election results.

Members of the electoral college convened in state capitals throughout the country Monday to formally vote for Biden. Following the gatherings, Biden plans to address the nation and say, “The flame of democracy was lit in this nation a long time ago. And we now know that nothing — not even a pandemic — or an abuse of power — can extinguish that flame,” according to excerpts of his speech.
